Table Mountain Treks and Tours

Table Mountain Treks & Tours is a family owned and operated business primarily leading private guided mountain and nature experiences in the Western Cape, South Africa. We are Table Mountain and Cape Peninsula specialists with vast experience in leading guided hikes, collectively spanning over 50 years. The core emphasis is on interpreting the natural elements we see whilst on the trail, but we also lead more adventurous scrambles such as India Venster on Table Mountain and high peaks in the Western Cape such as The Dome in the Helderberg. Multi-day treks are a wonderful way to understand the unique beauty & biodiversity of the Cape Floral Kingdom and these range from between 2 to 5 days. We still continue to guide a variation of the Hoerikwaggo Trail, 'slackpacking' style and numerous other overnight hikes around the Western Cape.

We also offer private culture tours of the Cape Peninsula, Cape Winelands and West Coast. We do special flower trips up the West Coast in spring time, year-round birding excursions around Cape Town and special interest nature tours through the fynbos biome.

Lead guide Mark Hawthorne is a Nature Conservationist by profession spending his 30+ year career working in the natural spaces around Cape Town. He has an in-depth knowledge of Table Mountain and the Cape Peninsula and any day in nature with him is huge value!
