SANParks: Garden Route National Park (Wilderness)
The Garden Route National Park encompasses a number of ecosystems, split into Tsitsikamma, Wilderness and Knysna Lake sections. Together, these areas cover an incredibly diverse range of landscapes, from coastal cliffs to lush forests, mountainous rises to lapping waves. Diverse landscapes lead to diverse wildlife, and that’s just what the Garden Route has to offer.
You couldn’t be more spoiled for choice when it comes to activities in the Garden Route, most commonly hiking, mountain biking, scuba diving, water sports, and birding. To really get to know the area, why not strap on those hiking boots and tackle the renowned Otter Trail. You will need to book in advance as numbers are limited and the trail is very popular.
Ebb-and- Flow Rest Camp is the quintessential stop in the Wilderness section of the Garden Route National Park. Here, guests can find a range of 4-bedroom family cottages, log cottages on wooden stilts, rondavels and caravan and camping sites.
