Durbanville Children’s Home

The Durbanville Children’s Home is a church-based NGO found in one of the picturesque suburbs of the Cape Winelands. Founded in 1883, it takes in youth within a 100km radius which includes informal settlements, farms and towns and currently cares for around 150 minors aged between 2 and 18.

During its 133 years of history, this Durbanville children’s home has developed programmes that include teaching life skills to many of the kids as well as facilitating healthcare and therapy treatments. It also has special processes to help the transition of children leaving the home once they become adults. The organisation is part of the Badisa portfolio, a social services provider that helps children and families and focuses on elderly care, disability care and victims of substance dependency. It always focuses on the values of hope, respect and understanding.
