Country Craft Market
The Country Craft Market takes place in a beautiful parklike setting, with close to 180 stalls set up under the trees on selected Saturdays through the summer months.
This market was formed in 1983 to promote handcrafts of the highest quality and bring them to the attention of as wide a range of people as possible. This makes the Country Craft Market the oldest craft market in the Cape Town area, and the only market offering top-quality handcrafts from local artisans and master craftsmen.
The standard of workmanship has been maintained to this day through a strict vetting process. A large range of different crafts can be found, which prove to be very popular with local shoppers as well as foreign tourists.
The Country Kitchen provides a choice of refreshments and a chance to sit down in the shade and rest weary feet. Some of the stalls are charity based, with funds being ploughed back into the community.
Country Kids takes care of the needs of little ones with a jumping castle, face-painting and sand art. Visitors are very welcome to bring the family pooch along on a lead. A water-bowl is provided in front of the information stall.
There is plenty of free safe parking behind the market grounds.
