African Home Guesthouse
Experience a luxurious 4-star stay in one of the oldest buildings in Sea Point. The property that holds the African Home guesthouse was originally built in 1790 by Lord Nelson using authentic Table Mountain granite. Now a national monument, African Home still bears features from its original era such as the bubbling horse trough in the main entrance.
African Home is quietly located in the middle of Sea Point’s old village. Just a 5-minute stroll will have you at the promenade while 15 minutes will get you to the V&A Waterfront. The friendly German owners have been visitors to South Africa over 30 times and are happy to share their first-hand knowledge and tips with interested guests.
The guesthouse is split into several levels, giving rise to small, private courtyards for guests to enjoy. Each room comes with a television, safe and a WLAN connection with an additional guest computer available in the lobby. A large and welcoming swimming pool provides the perfect way to cool down after a busy day of exploring, and in winter, the warm fireplace in the lounge invites holidaymakers to linger and relax.
