World Cup countdown: 30 Days to Kick-off celebration

Tuesday May 11 marks just 30 days to go until the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ kicks off.

Cape Town Executive Mayor Alderman Dan Plato will mark this milestone by announcing the city’s 2010 programme, to involve all Capetonians in the event.

Although the Cape Town Stadium will be a hive of activity on match days, the City will ensure that Capetonians have a chance to be part of this once-in-a-lifetime event through the Grand Parade Fan Fests and Fan Jols (Public Viewing Areas) across the city.

Alderman Plato will share the spotlight with some colourful performers including JR, of hit single Make the circle beega fame, puppets and dancers doing the diski dance.

Before the 30-Days celebration, a media briefing session will be conducted on Fan Fests and Fan Jols in Cape Town.

Date: Tuesday May 11

Time: 12h30
