Tourism and wine meet at inaugural Vindaba

Vindaba is a three-day showcase of wine and wine tourism products, with a focus on trade promotion and exposure. The inaugural Vindaba 2012 event will take place in The Conservatory at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) from 25-27 September, and will run alongside the annual Cape Wine event.

The event is open to the public on Thursday, 27 September at a cost of R50 per person, in celebration of World Tourism Day. Visitors will see an array of exhibitors from wine farms to wedding venues, as well as have the opportunity to walk away with great giveaway prizes. Tickets can be bought at the CTICC on the day of the show.

“Wine tourism is an important niche sector in Cape tourism; our wine routes combine the experience of beautiful landscapes, grand dreams, the echoes of history and a kaleidoscope of tastes – of both cuisine and wine – as well as innovative and hospitable people. Developing supportive partnerships and packages around wine tourism will assist in maximising the wine tourism offering to new and traditional markets,” comments Mariëtte du Toit-Helmbold, CEO of Cape Town Tourism.

Visitors from outside Cape Town can take advantage of great travel specials for Vindaba from Cape Town Tourism and Thompsons Holidays:
