‘Love Cape Town City Breaks’ Unlocks Value-for-Money Mini-Breaks for Domestic Market

Cape Town Tourism and Thompsons Holidays have partnered to create accessible, curated packages to the Mother City for domestic travellers in search of short city breaks. The ‘Love Cape Town City Breaks’ are high on value and run from May to the end of September 2013, focusing on Cape Town’s winter gourmet offering as well as key happenings on the Cape Town calendar. 

Some of the weekend travel packages centre around major events in the city, whilst others have a mystery element, giving buyers two surprise experiences on booking. Departing from Johannesburg, Durban and Port Elizabeth, with luxury and budget options, packages include return flights to Cape Town, airline levies, two days car hire, two night’s accommodation and meals where specified. Self-drive packages start at R899 per person and fly-in packages start from R3 235 per person.

To further fuel the allure of the spontaneous getaway, Amazing Member Deals are on offer by Cape Town Tourism members for May – September 2013, including discounts at the Two Oceans Aquarium, Curry Nights at the Hilton and discounted  kayak trips to Boulders Beach - to name a few. All packages and specials can be found on the Amazing Member Deals webpage of Cape Town Tourism’s website.

‘Love Cape Town City Breaks’ packages will be promoted through a variety of channels including on Thompsons Holidays and SAA’s advertisements, newsletters and websites, as well as their social media channels. There will also be paid advertising on Radio 702 and on pole posters in Johannesburg.

Cape Town Tourism will be amplifying the message that Cape Town offers adventure and value throughout winter via social media with the #LoveCapeTown hashtag, as well as informative articles on their blog.

For the first time too, Cape Town Tourism released a printed broadsheet with details of the ‘Love Cape Town City Breaks’ cosy winter deals and a map of Cape Town central streets for visitors. Broadsheets are available from Cape Town Tourism Visitor Information Centres, Thompsons Holidays offices, Mango in-flight magazines and at events in Cape Town.
