The Magic Arcade & Magic Castle at GrandWest Casino
With hours of magic fun, kids will enjoy the array of video games, bumper cars and fun fair rides, with loads of great prizes to be won. Entry into the arcade is free, but tokens to play the games will need to be purchased. The arcade is open seven days a week during the school term, with the Magic Castle only opens on Friday and Saturday. Two Oceans Aquarium
Undoubtedly one of Cape Town’s treasures for the young and old, the Two Oceans Aquarium is home to more than 3 000 sea animals, including fish, sharks, turtles, octopi and birds.  The amount of underwater species that can be seen here will keep the little ones glued as they make their way around the display areas.  Tickets cost R118p/p for adults; R92p/p for children aged 14 – 17 years, R58p/p for those 4 – 13 years old and is free for those under 4. The aquarium is open every day of the year from 9:30am to 6pm.

The Springbok Experience Rugby Museum
Located at the V&A Waterfront, the newly opened museum has lots for the little ones to enjoy.  There is a display, located on the top floor, with loads of activities for kids. The game zone includes an interactive set-up where kids and adults can test their kicking, passing, fitness and reaction skills in the interactive ‘Springbok Trials’ games zone, and also tests their ability to complete sentences in another fun game.
Price:  R30p/p for scholars and free for pre-schoolers; families of four pay R140 in total.

Winter Wonderland Festival of Lights 2014

V&A Waterfront
While there are no specific shows planned for kids due to the weather, the V&A Waterfront does have fun-filled activities for the kids. They have a giant chess board and a great play area inside and outside. The indoor play area, which will be set up in the centre court, will be up during their Art Jamming activation, happening from the 27th June to the 13th July. Art Jamming will incur a cost of R60, but the play area is free. Kids also love watching boats and spotting seals, which is yet another free activity.

Blue Route Mall
The Drop-n-Shop Zone at Blue Route Mall will keep kids in high spirits with hands-on-fun, a make-over station, face painting, plus many more activities. This will take place from the 28th June – 20th July in the Forever New court on the 1st floor. It is for kids aged between 4 – 12. The Drop-n-Shop Zone is open from 11h00 – 15h00 daily.
On the 19th July at 11h00, kids will have the chance to meet KykNET’s Tjiff en Tjaff cartoon characters at the Guess court on the 1st floor, and enjoy a live Jack & the Beanstalk Show at 12h00.
