Gugulethu hosts top-notch wine label launch
Cape Town Tourism attended the launch of Oak Valley’s new Rawbones wine label on December 9, 2010, hosted by well-known Gugulethu township attraction Mzoli’s Place. The event was well-attended by media and trade despite recent negative publicity surrounding the controversial Shrien Dewani case.

Cape Town’s summer tourism season is getting underway and Cape Town Tourism has launched a summer campaign with the message, “Love Summer! Love Cape Town!”
To celebrate, Cape Town Tourism hosted 100 top vendors of The Big Issue on a tour of the Cape Peninsula and a visit to the top of Table Mountain. This follows on from Cape Town Tourism’s successful partnership with The Big Issue that started in the run-up to the 2010 FIFA World Cup™, during which time vendors were trained as tourism ambassadors and provided with rainbow-coloured bibs.

She went on to point out that it’s not all gloom, however, as industry leaders indicate that South Africa’s traditional markets begin to show signs of recovery and new source markets are showing increasing interest in the destination.
