1.1 The promoter of this competition is Cape Town Tourism, the City of Cape Town's official regional tourism organisation (the "Promoter"). The Promoter can be contacted at the Pinnacle Building, Corner Burg & Castle Streets, Cape Town, 8001, South Africa, Tel: 021 487 6800.
1.2 By entering this competition you agree to these terms and conditions.
1.3 There are no entry fees payable in order to participate in this competition.

2. How does this competition work?
2.1 The Promoter has created a Facebook application (the "Application"). The Application is made available to Facebook users on the ‘ICapeTown’ Facebook page accessible at http://www.facebook.com/CapeTown.Travel (the "Facebook Page").
2.2 All Facebook users who enter into the Facebook Page are invited to use the Application.
2.3 This competition enables users of the Application ("Participants") to use the Application to send their Facebook profile on a virtual holiday to Cape Town (the "Game").
2.4 Subject to these terms and conditions, within the duration of the game, the participant stands a chance to win spot prizes (described in as 6.3) and/or a grand prize consisting of a trip to Cape Town for themselves and one other person (as described in 6.4).
3. Who can enter this competition?
3.1 This competition is open to all Participants who are 18 years of age or older.
3.2 You may not enter the competition if you are a director, member, partner, employee, agent of, or consultant of the Promoter, or a supplier, sponsor, or advertiser of goods or services in connection with this competition, or directly or indirectly controlling or controlled by the Promoter, or marketing service providers in respect of the competition, or a spouse, life partner, parent, child, brother, sister or business partner of any of the above mentioned persons.
4. How to enter the competition?
4.1 You will require a computer and internet access to play the Game and enter this competition. No refund may be claimed for expenses related to the use of an Internet connection for the purpose of participating in the competition.
4.2 Each Game lasts for a period of 5 calendar days. The Participant chooses when his or her Game will start. Each completed Game by a Participant amounts to one automatic entry into the competition
4.3 To enter this competition, you will be required to:
4.3.1 enter your Facebook user details to play a Game;
4.3.2 complete a Game; and
4.3.3 provide the Promoter, through the Application, with your relevant contact details (such as your name, where you are residing and email address).
5. How long does this competition last?
5.1 The starting date for the competition is 19 September 2012.
5.2 Subject to 5.3 below, the closing date for the competition is midnight (GMT) on 31 December 2012.
5.3 Entries to start a Game will not be considered if such entries are requested after midnight (GMT) 31 December 2012. In other words, no person may start playing the Game after midnight (GMT) 31 December 2012.
5.4 Participants who have started to play a Game before midnight (GMT) 31 December 2012 are however entitled to complete their Game. This means that, subject to these terms and conditions, Participants can continue to play their Game, and such Participants have the right to submit his or her entry into the competition until midnight (GMT) 5 January 2013.
5.5 The Promoter shall not be responsible for entries to the Game and the competition that are not received for any reason whatsoever including, by way of example only, as a consequence of communications or network failures.
6. What are the Prizes?
6.1 By playing a Game, you stand a chance to win spot prizes as described in 6.3 of these terms and conditions (the "Spot Prizes").
6.2 By submitting an entry into the competition after completing a Game, you also stand a chance to win either the international prize or the national prize as described in 6.4
(the "Grand Prizes").
6.3 The Spot Prizes
6.3.1 The Spot Prizes have been provided by our sponsors and are aimed at promoting tourism to Cape Town. The Spot Prizes are only redeemable in Cape Town. Due to the nature of some of the Spot Prizes, Spot Prizes may be subject to additional terms and conditions as specified by the relevant sponsor. All winners of Spot Prizes will receive an email from the Promoter (the email will be sent to the email address you provided when you entered the Game) describing the Spot Prize won, a unique code (Gift#), the relevant sponsor's name and a link to the relevant sponsor's terms and conditions that will be applicable to the relevant Spot Prize.
6.3.2 Winners for the Spot Prizes will be chosen randomly by lucky draw, during the 5 day game play. Not all entries will result in a Spot Prize being won.
6.3.3 In addition to any terms and conditions specified by the relevant sponsor, each Spot Prize will remain valid for a period of 12 months from the date of issue (i.e. the date on which you receive the email described in paragraph 6.3.1). In order to redeem your Spot Prize you must present a copy of the email described in paragraph 6.3.1. Some of the Spot Prizes that could be won by way of example are: 2 nights' accommodation at a 4-star hotel and guided city tours.
6.3.4 Please note that a Spot Prize will not redeemable for cash and cannot be exchanged, transferred or traded. As stated above, a Spot Prize is only redeemable in Cape Town and does not include any travel, accommodation, subsistence, visa fees or any other expenses.
6.4 The Grand Prizes: The International Prize and National Prize
6.4.1 There are 2 Grand Prizes to be won. The Grand Prizes consist of either:
220.127.116.11 a holiday in the City of Cape Town consisting of (i) economy return flights to Cape Town International Airport from a local commercial airport in an international destination for Participants who have completed a Game and provided, at the time of completion of the Game (or the last Game if the Participant played the Game more than once), contact details that he or she is not resident in the Republic of South Africa , (ii) hotel accommodation in the City of Cape Town, (iii) transfer from Cape Town International Airport to such hotel and such hotel to Cape Town International Airport and (iv) spending money of [R5000 The Spending money will be loaded onto a ABSA money transfer card which will be given to winner along with a pin code. The R5 000 prize money is once off and not R5 000 daily. (the "International Prize"). The winner is also entitled bring an accompanying partner with them. The approximate value of the International Prize R80 000]; or
18.104.22.168 a holiday in the City of Cape Town, consisting of (i) economy return flights to Cape Town International Airport from a local national airport in the Republic of South Africa for Participants who have completed a Game, and provided, at the time of completion of the Game, (or the last Game if the Participant played the Game more than once) contact details that he or she is resident in the Republic South Africa (ii) hotel accommodation in the City of Cape Town, (iii) transfer from Cape Town International Airport to such hotel and such hotel to Cape Town International Airport and (iii) spending money of [R5 000] The Spending money will be loaded onto a ABSA money transfer card which will be given to winner along with a pin code. The R5000 prize money is once off and not R5 000 daily. (the "National Prize"). The winner is entitled bring an accompanying partner with them. The approximate value of the National Prize is R40 000.
6.5 The winners of the Grand Prizes will be chosen randomly and the lucky draw will take place on [Tuesday 15th January 2013]. The draw will be done by an employee or representative of [the Promoter] (the "judge"). The judge's decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into with a Participant other than with the winners.
6.6 The winners of the Grand Prizes will be contacted no later than 16th of January 2013 by email address, using the email address provided by the winner at the time of completing a Game and entering the competition for the Grand Prize.
6.7 The Promoter (and any sponsors of the Grand Prize) may require the winners to provide it with additional information as it may reasonably require in order to determine the identity of the winner and to process and facilitate the winner's acceptance and use of the Grand Prize.
6.8 The winners will be responsible for satisfying any legal or administrative requirements that need to be met to enable the winner to use the Prize (such as obtaining any passports, paying taxes and obtaining travel insurance).
6.9 If the winner fail to do whatever is reasonably necessary to use the Prize, the winner accept and agree that the Prize will be forfeited. Furthermore, if, due to no fault of the Promoter, the Promoter is not able to ensure that the Grand Prizes are provided to the winner and the Promoter is not able to contact the winner for more than 7 days to address any concerns regarding acceptance of the Prize, the winner agrees that the Prize will be forfeited and a new winner will be drawn in accordance with the steps set out in these terms and conditions.
6.10 The winner will also forfeit the Prize if it is unlawful to award the Prize to the winner.
6.11 The Prizes are not negotiable or transferable and may not be converted into cash or exchanges.
The Promoter reserves the right to substitute an alternative prize of similar or greater value in the event that the Prize is unavailable for reasons beyond the Promoter's control.
6.13 Virgin Atlantic Booking Terms and Conditions
1. Travel will be in Economy Class cabin of the Aircraft .
2. Prizewinner tickets may only be utilised by the person winning the tickets and may not be sold for monetary gain.
3. Prizewinner tickets are NON- ENDORSABLE and NON TRANSFERABLE. Tickets may not be transferred to another family member or any other named person and cannot be sold, bartered or substituted for any other prize.
4. Tickets are valid to/from Johannesburg or Cape Town only and cannot be utilised to any other Virgin Atlantic destination. Any onward transportation to/from Johannesburg or Cape Town is at the passenger’s own expense.
5. Maximum stay at destination stipulated is 3 months from date of outbound travel.
6. It is the passenger’s responsibility to ensure that all passport, visa and exchange control requirements are adhered to. Also please note that a visa is required for all South African passport holders from the 03 March 09.
7. Once a booking has been confirmed no date changes to the reservation are permitted unless made through Staff Travel at Virgin Atlantic Airways Johannesburg office. Seats will be subject to availability. If a booking is cancelled or a passenger fails to check-in for the reserved flight, no replacement tickets will be issued. No cash alternative can be offered for the tickets.
8. All travel must be utilized by end of Sep 2013.
9. Validity will not be extended under any circumstances.
10. Passengers will abide by and be subject to Virgin Atlantic's published terms and conditions of carriage, which are available from any Virgin Atlantic office or on our website www.virginatlantic.com
11. No Flying Club miles will be awarded for travel under this promotion
12. This letter is not replaceable should it be lost or stolen.
Once tickets have been issued, Virgin Atlantic shall not be liable for any failure to comply with its obligations caused by weather conditions, fire, flood, strike, hurricane, industrial dispute, war, hostilities, political unrest, riots, civil commotion, inevitable accidents
7. What do we do with your personal information?
7.1 The Promoter may collect, store and use (but not share) personal information of each entrant for communication and statistical purposes. Any personal data submitted to Promoter in connection with the competition will be used by the Promoter for the purpose of administering the competition and for marketing their monthly newsletter and special offers where the Participant has consented to this.
7.2 Subject to paragraph 7.1 above, the name of the winner and the country that the winner resides in will be published on the Promoter's Facebook page and website on or around [21st January 2013 ].
7.3 When accessing the Application for the first time, Participants will be asked to provide the Application with permission to post on to a Participant’s Facebook page and to utilise the Participants' basic contact details ("Personal Information") will be gathered by the Application and, if need be corrected, and then approved by the Participant. This information will allow the Promoter to contact the Participant if they win Spot Prize and to confirm whether they wish to enter into the draw for a Grand Prize.
7.4 The Promoter, subject to the Participant's prior consent, may also submit Facebook posts (such as Facebook status updates, photos and videos of the Game) onto a Participant’s timeline during the course of each Game played by the Participant. The Promoter will process the Personal Information as required in terms of law.
7.5 The Promoter takes security seriously and takes precautions to keep the Personal Information secure. The Promoter has put in place appropriate physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard the Personal Information it collects.
7.6 The Promoter has no control over the privacy of any emails while in transit from the Participant's email address to the Promoters nominated email address. The Promoter recommends that you do not include any confidential, proprietary or sensitive information in email. In the unlikely event that the Promoter believes that the security of the Personal Information in its possession or control may have been compromised, it may seek to notify you of that development. The Promoter will notify the Participant as soon as possible under the circumstances via Facebook and, to the extent the Participant have provided the Promoter with your email address, the Promoter may notify you by email.
8.1 The Promoter reserves the right to amend the rules of the competition or to withdraw the competition at any time if circumstances beyond its control make this unavoidable.
8.2 These terms and conditions are governed by South African law. The competition is regulated by the Consumer Protection Act, 68 of 2008 (the "CPA"). It is not intended that any provision of these terms and conditions contravene any provision of the CPA and therefore all provisions of these terms and conditions must be treated as being qualified, if necessary, to ensure that the provisions of the CPA are complied with.

8.4 To extent allowed by law and subject to 8.2 above, the maximum liability of the Promoter to you, whether in contract or delict for all breaches of these terms and conditions and all other events, claims or causes of action arising, or relating to any contract governed by these terms and conditions, shall be limited in the aggregate of R2000.
This paragraph limits the Promoter's liability to you to extent allowed by law and limits your rights and remedies against the Promoter. If there is any breach these terms and conditions (and any other contract associated with these terms and conditions). You agree that the Promoter may only be liable to an amount of no more than R2000.
