Cape Town has received yet another accolade for best holiday destination – and this time it’s been voted for by South African’s themselves – in a Heat magazine reader survey, Cape Town was voted Best Holiday Destination Ever.

Cape Town Tourism demonstrated its readiness to welcome the world in style with the opening of a newly revamped Visitor Information Centre (VIC) in Burg Street.  The clean, contemporary look of this centre is a prototype for future upgrades to Cape Town Tourism’s network of eighteen Visitor Information Centres across the City and, according to Belinda Van Niekerk, acting CEO of Cape Town Tourism, sends a strong message. “We are open; open for business, open-minded, open to a new experience as one of the world’s greatest hosts”.

The Mother City’s two Premier Soccer League sides, Santos and Ajax Cape Town, will compete in a friendly match at the inaugural Cape Town Stadium Soccer Festival to be held at the new venue on January 23.

Football fans will get their first inside glimpse of the brand-new R4.5-billion Cape Town Stadium when the mother city’s two Premier Soccer League sides, Santos and Ajax Cape Town, clash in the match to be played at the venue on January 23 during the inaugural event at the Cape Town Stadium Soccer Festival, in association with Virgin Active and MTN.

There will be much for spectators to enthuse over at The Cape Town Stadium Soccer Festival on January 23, both on and off the pitch!

Aside from the first event to be held at the world-class R4.5-billion Cape Town Stadium with a local Derby between Premier Soccer League sides Santos and Ajax Cape Town, there will also be other entertainment to enjoy.

The Cape Town Stadium Soccer Festival on 23 January will see Premier Soccer League sides Santos and Ajax Cape Town do battle for local pride as the Mother City’s brand new, R4.5-billion stadium is opened for the first event.

The event, hosted by the City of Cape Town, organised by Stadium Operators SAIL STADEFRANCE and sponsored by Virgin Active Health Clubs and MTN, will give local fans a chance to see another instalment in the fierce rivalry between these two great Cape Town clubs.

Cape Town Premier Soccer League sides Santos and Ajax Cape Town will meet in an eagerly-anticipated Derby at The Cape Town Stadium Soccer Festival on 23 January (kick-off 16h00), with local pride at stake for both teams.

The pair has enjoyed good seasons and as they enter the final stretch in the League, and will be hoping to use the event, hosted by the City of Cape Town, organised by Stadium Operators SAIL STADEFRANCE and sponsored by Virgin Active Health Clubs and MTN, to fine-tune preparations for the remainder of the campaign.

Hosted by the City of Cape Town, all 20 000 tickets have been sold out for the Cape Town Stadium Soccer Festival on January 23 as fans gear up for the local Derby between Santos and Ajax Cape Town (16h00 kickoff).
