Tourism Services Update – January 2013

46 SMME’s were assisted by our Industry Business Support Consultant and the team enjoyed interacting with and assisting approximately 275 members during the month.  The team also dealt with 11 Visitor Complaints and engaged with our members to resolve these.

The number of over-the-counter enquiries in January 2013 increased with 12% year-on-year. Telephone enquiries saw an 11.8% increase while e-mail enquiries decreased by 26.5% year-on-year.   An almost 50% increase in Computicket sales is attributed to an increase in the number of CTT outlets now selling tickets as well as a bumper event season in January and February with international soccer events and big acts like the Red Hot Chili Peppers appearing at Cape Town Stadium.
