The First Africa Travel Week - a Great Success

Praise for WTM Africa mentioned in over 6,500 one-to-one meetings

The first Africa Travel Week in Cape Town was a great success, with ILTM (International Luxury Travel Market) Africa, IBTM (Incentives, Business Travel and Meetings) Africa  and WTM (World Travel Market) Africa attracting thousands of attendees from 28 April to 2 May at the CTICC.

The whole week delivered to Africa over 6,500 one-to-one meetings, providing an impressive economic impact on the continent’s leisure, travel and luxury tourism, and the MICE/business travel sector.

Most suppliers and buyers have praised the three events as an excellent new opportunity for Africa’s business development, knowledge enhancement and regional networking with global relevance.

WTM Africa was the highlight of the week with 350 exhibiting companies bringing the world to Africa and Cape Town Tourism launching the first mobile visitor information vehicle on the continent, Thando.
