Table Mountain National Park extends deadline for commercial operators’ registration to June 2

The National Environmental Management Protected Areas Act (Act 57 of 2003) stipulates that a license, permit or agreement is required at an appropriate fee to undertake commercial activities within a reserve, national park or World Heritage Site. Table Mountain National Park’s Commercial Operator permitting process was established to drive SANParks’ enforcement of the act to ensure that the impact of commercial activities within the Park are carefully managed and do not infringe on the organisation’s core mandate of conservation.

In order to streamline the registration of Commercial Operators, the initial deadline of December 1, 2011 has been extended by six months to June 1, 2012. A registration fee of R150 is payable to secure an operating permit valid for one year from the date of receipt. Register now to secure an early registration incentive in the form of an extended expiry date of 31 May 2013 on your operating permit.
