Media, PR and Guest Relations update - November 2010

A recent survey (conducted by found that 94.03% of sampled World Cup visitors said that South Africa exceeded their expectations and 97.01% would recommend the destination to family and friends. 88.06% also felt safe during their visit. Similar findings by Cape Town Tourism showed that visitors were pleasantly surprised by how safe, organised and friendly the city was.

This is the message that Cape Town Tourism will take to World Travel Market in London from 8 – 11 November. The World Travel Market is a business-to-business travel industry event that sees an international convergence of stakeholders, operators, agencies and travel media. It provides a platform to communicate, negotiate and meet in order to make vital contacts and do even better business. 

Cape Town Tourism’s WTM activities will focus on trade engagements and strengthening trade relationships in our key source markets. We will continue to roll-out our media hosting programme but will place a strong emphasis on converting the world-wide interest in our destination into actual bookings.
