Indaba 2012, one of the world’s largest tourism marketing events, attracted thousands of exhibitors, trade representatives, media and visitors to the sunny city of Durban from May 12 to 15, 2012.

Hosted at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre and Durban Exhibition Centre, the Indaba boasted a packed programme. From the energetic opening ceremony, featuring top local acts Mi Casa and Judith Sephuma, to seminars and product launches, the 2012 Emerging Tourism Entrepreneur of the Year Awards, as well as plenty of networking events, Indaba delegates were constantly engaged and informed about their growing industry.

Cape Town Tourism, an exhibitor on the Western Cape Pavilion, welcomed visitors to its stand, including Alan Winde, Western Cape Minister of Finance, Economic Development and Tourism.

A highlight of this year’s event was the official signing of the Three Cities Alliance agreement between Cape Town TourismDurban Tourism and Johannesburg Tourism on Sunday, May 13, 2012. The agreement will facilitate a national partnership to promote urban tourism offerings in SA.
