2014 Travel Trade Events in SA

We Are Africa, travel trade exhibition coming soon in Cape Town.

Many top Travel Trade events will be taking place during the first part of the year, with four shows happening in Cape Town. Whilst planning 2014, take these events into account, as it could be valuable to attend or exhibit and follow the updates online to keep abreast of trends in the market.

In conjunction with Africa Travel Week from 28 April to 3 May, three travel industry events will be taking place at the CTICC in Cape Town – WTM Africa, IBTM Africa and ILTM Africa.

The week after that, South African Tourism will for the first time host two consecutive shows, We Are Africa in Cape Town as well Indaba as in Durban. In a unique and exciting collaboration, these shows are set to bring unprecedented business benefits to exhibitors, buyers, and the greater African tourism sector.

WTM: World Travel Market Africa
Date: 2 – 3 May 2014
Venue: CTICC, Cape Town

World Travel Market Africa is set to be the leading B2B exhibition for Africa’s leisure travel industry. World Travel Market Africa will bring together international and African suppliers, with both a Pan-African and global audience of travel buyers and professionals, for 2 days of exchanging ideas, sharing best practice, meeting new contacts from across the world and ultimately conducting business.

What you can expect:

  • 700 exhibiting companies from within South Africa, sub-Saharan Africa, North Africa and the Indian Ocean as well as from international destinations.
  • An insightful and topical Africa-focused conference and seminar programme, brought together by key industry figures including key features such as WTM’s World Responsible Tourism Programme taking place over the 2 days.

IBTM: Incentives, Business, Travel & Meetings
Date: 28 – 30 April 2014
Venue: CTICC, Cape Town

IBTM Africa is the new invitation-only event for Africa’s incentives, meetings and business travel industry. Targeting inbound business, IBTM Africa is the platform for African and Indian Ocean suppliers and international buyers to meet, network and transact business in a highly targeted and interactive environment.

What you can expect:

  • Fifty international senior level decision makers responsible for incentives and meetings from corporate companies, associations and not for profit and third party agencies.
  • Hosted Buyers’ programme of pre-scheduled appointments with qualified suppliers to the event providing an efficient return on time and investment.

ITLTM: International Luxury Travel Market Africa
Date: 28 – 30 April 2014

ILTM Africa is where the leaders of the African luxury travel community meet. Exclusive trade only buyers from across the globe are introduced to African suppliers through a bespoke appointment programme to build relationships and grow their businesses.

This exclusive event will bring together the most sought after collection of luxury experiences Africa has to offer for the most established international business as well as companies from key emerging markets.

  • Highly targeted gathering for luxury travel markets
  • Up to 120 of the top international luxury buyers – specifically focusing on the African market
  • Up to 120 luxury travel suppliers exclusively from Africa

We Are Africa
Date: 5 – 8 May 2014
Venue: Cape Town Stadium, Cape Town

We Are Africa is a new travel trade exhibition that will be representing a selection of outstanding African and Indian Ocean travel brands. Luxury travel businesses from Cairo to Cape Town and Dakar to Port Louis will be given the opportunity to showcase their products and services to some of the world's finest travel trade buyers in charge of sourcing products from Africa.

Indaba
Date: 10 – 12 May 2014
Venue: Albert Luthuli Hall, Durban

Indaba is one of the largest tourism marketing events on the African calendar and one of the top three ‘must visit’ events of its kind on the global calendar. It showcases the widest variety of Southern Africa's best tourism products, and attracts international visitors and media from across the world.

What you can expect:

  • Over 13,000 delegates from travel and tourism related industries around the world to network with.
  • Over 1400 exhibiting companies, showcasing their travel-related products and services from a diverse range of destinations and industry sectors.
  • Over 10 000 attendees over the three days.
