The fifth annual e-Tourism Africa summit will take place on September 13 and 14 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre. The summit will bring together some of the world’s leading experts in online tourism, including TripAdvisor, Wanderfly, Expedia, Facebook developers and a host of new and innovative speakers. New sessions will cover Facebook campaigning for tourism and mobile travel apps. South African Tourism is the title sponsor of the two-day conference, with Cape Town Tourism as the host sponsor.

The National Environmental Management Protected Areas Act (Act 57 of 2003) stipulates that a license, permit or agreement is required at an appropriate fee to undertake commercial activities within a reserve, national park or World Heritage Site. Table Mountain National Park’s Commercial Operator permitting process was established to drive SANParks’ enforcement of the act to ensure that the impact of commercial activities within the Park are carefully managed and do not infringe on the organisation’s core mandate of conservation.
