Cape Town Tourism opportunity: Acquire a BEE certificate

The Tourism Enterprise Development (Department of Economic Development and Tourism) is partnering with Economic Empowerment to help exempted micro enterprises (EMEs) acquire BEE certificates. We are in the process of appointing a verification company which will be conducting the rating.

Unfortunately the appointment of a verification agency does take time, but this is the perfect opportunity for you to gather the documents required.

If your company is an EME, we would like to afford you this opportunity to get your company rated.

Attached is the criteria for participating in the roll-out of BEE compliance certificates, as well as the application form to be completed and submitted to the verification company.

Please confirm your interest in being rated, and indicate whether you meet the criteria.

  • If you do not submit the required documents, we cannot guarantee receipt of the certificate.
  • IIf you do not meet the criteria, please let us know.
  • IThe R200 payment can be made directly to the verification agency (banking details will be forwarded to you once available).
  • IIf payment has not been made, the verification agency will not issue the certificate.
  • IYou will have to submit your documentation through our department at first, and then the verification company will liaise with you, if there are any further requirements.

This programme is based on a first come, first served basis, and there are a limited number of businesses we are able to have verified.

If your company does not submit the required documents, then your subsided slot will be reallocated.

There may be further contact from the verification company once they are appointed, so please cooperate with their requests.
