Gold Package Marketing Partnership Programme: Expression of interest

Cape Town Tourism is one of the largest voluntary tourism industry associations in the world, with more than 2 000 members. Our visitor strategy is recognised by the United Nations World Tourism Organisation for global best practice and in 2008 Cape Town Tourism’s focus expanded to include destination marketing.

The tourism landscape has changed drastically over the past few years due to the global economic recession, emerging markets entering into the fold and travel behavior being altered irrevocably by technology and the web.  In order to be future fit, Cape Town Tourism recognised that we have to reassess our strategies, go beyond the traditional or what has become the norm, challenge our thinking and innovate.

The membership programme developed in 2004 is currently under review and being expanded upon to ensure relevance within a changing tourism environment.  The essence of Cape Town Tourism’s marketing strategy for the city is facilitating marketing through partnership with the industry in order to stretch limited funds and strengthen the impact of marketing within a very competitive environment for Cape Town and the partners involved.

The development of a Joint Marketing Partnership Programme with selected members from the industry is the first step in the redevelopment of Cape Town Tourism’s Industry Programme.  There will be two categories:

1.    one aimed at the tourism sector (gold package)
2.    the other aimed at corporate business at large (platinum package)

In line with our strategy of marketing Cape Town in partnership with the industry, Cape Town Tourism has introduced a Gold Marketing Partnership Package aimed at key tourism stakeholders.  The Gold Partnership Package encompasses a selection of domestic, international and online marketing platforms, channels, campaigns and joint marketing opportunities, all at a highly competitive rate to ensure maximum cost-effectiveness for our partners and the ability to strategically plan ahead.

Kindly find a Request for Expression of Interest attached to join the Cape Town Tourism Industry Marketing Partnership Programme ‘Gold Package”, with the document detailing the package benefits, partnership criteria, procedure for expressing interest and submission details. Please note that submissions close at noon on Monday, May 16 2011.

Should you require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact our Industry Services Manager, Cathy Alberts, at 021 487 6800 or via e-mail on .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
