Study visas
Applying for a South Africa study visa
All visitors to South Africa must be in possession of a valid passport in order to enter the country and, depending on your country of origin, a visa.
International students intending to study in South Africa must apply for and be granted a study permit before commencing their studies. A South African educational institution cannot register an international student until a valid study permit has been produced. South African study visas are granted for a one-year period and can be extended in order to complete the relevant course. The national Department of Home Affairs grants study visas.
