Cape Town is home to no less than eight blue flag beaches and was awarded Africa's Best Beach Destnation at the 2012 World Travel Awards. Whether you are into adventure activities like surfing, kitesurfing, horse riding and fishing, or simply relaxing in the sun surrounded by beautiful people, Cape Town has a beach for you.

National Geographic named Muizenberg as one of the World's Best Surf Town's while Boulders Beach in Simon's Town was listed as one of TripAdvisor's 10 Truly Unique Beaches. Blouberg is rated as one of the best places in the world to kitesurf and attracts adrenalin junkies from around the world between November and April.
Cape Town's beaches and coastal waters have featured in numerous Hollywood blockbusters (such as American Ninja 2 and Dark Tide) and international television commercials.
In 2012 a UK-based advertising agency produced a poster of a family running on the beach, promoting trips to northern France, only for it to be revealed that the photo was in fact taken on Llandudno Beach, just 15 minutes from the Cape Town city centre!
