You may not ever read this. Chances are you’re going to be too busy attending to the needs of your guests, managing your staff and ensuring that the Cape Town visitors experience is the one they will return to time and time again. But, if you give me a minute, I would like to thank you.

2013 has been a year of change for many of us. Personally, I have risen to an exciting new challenge and I have relished meeting so many of you in my new role as CEO in these past months. I have really worked hard on hearing what the industry has to say, rather than trying to impose my views. I have realised that this is not something you can do for a limited time. Instead, it is a technique I have wholly and personally adopted going forward, but with the founding thought that I will always employ what I hear in the service of a considered and collectively-minded course of action.

I would like to thank you for your openness, your trust and your honesty – for the fact that together you define and uphold the delivery of the destination Cape Town promise. After meeting you, it’s no surprise that the world keeps coming back for more. I recognise that, for many of you, this time of holidays with family and carefree hours in the sunshine is sacrificed for the benefit of your work and your passion.

To everyone who is working and serving our visitors this holiday season, thank you and our best wishes to you and your families, we are here beside you, from all of us at Cape Town Tourism.
