CEO Blog - Summer Season is a Go!
All indications are that our summer season if off to a good start. The passing of Madiba and the subsequent period of mourning meant that the holiday mood has really only set in the first days of this week, but our partners in tourism are saying that business is now in full swing with some reporting an unusually early influx of international visitors in what is traditionally regarded as more of a key time for domestic visitors.
Many top attractions are sending the message that visitors should plan ahead, booking online or by telephone, well in advance. We can all play a part in managing visitor expectations and ensuring that our holiday-makers are not disappointed. If you are not certain about the status of any attraction, service or tour, please check in with us and we will try and assist. Note too that our website features a newsfeed that updates browsers when the Table Mountain Cableway is closed or if Robben Island ferry is not operational or fully booked. Please make use of these tools – and pass them on to your front of house staff. There are so many options for things to do in Cape Town, even if it means missing out on a Big Six experience, help your visitors discover the Cape Town you know and love– no doubt they will thank you for it.
