Time After Time Capsule

24th November 2017 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Time After Time Capsule

Japanese “Kawaii” pop culture icon Sebastian Masuda brings Kawaii Culture to Cape Town. Join his Time Capsule events activities and be part of a global project culminating at 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Sebastian Masuda is an artist and art director, contextualizing Harajuku and kawaii culture into his work. Masuda opened “6%DOKIDOKI” in Harajuku, a store that prides itself on being the forerunner of the “Sensational Kawaii” movement. In this event, he is going to have a lecture on how “Kawaii” culture was raised in Harajuku and spread out around the world. You can also join the workshop, where you write a letter to your future self and decorate it with “Kawaii” materials, and put them in the time capsule which is going to be displayed to the public at Tokyo Olympics 2020. Attendance to all events is open to the public free of charge
