With its efficient infrastructure, balmy climate and breathtaking scenery – not to mention a highly favourable exchange rate and a booming business tourism industry – Cape Town is an ideal location for any conference, convention, trade show and event.

World Heritage Sites

Cape Town is home to two of South Africa’s eight World Heritage Sites and venues are available at both sites.

Robben Island  was inscribed as a United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (Unesco) World Heritage Site in 1999 as an area of cultural interest.

The Cape Floral Region, inscribed as a World Heritage Site in 2004, is made up of eight areas totalling 553 000ha (almost 1.4-million acres) and includes Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden and the Table Mountain National Park.

Cultural and historic venues

Cape Town can credit much of its charming mix of culture to its rich history. Modern Cape Town is a city of contrasts: one that boasts a thriving creative economy, premier business tourist destination status and incredible natural beauty, juxtaposed with social problems and poverty that are directly related to our colourful past and troubled history.  Venues of cultural and historical significance include:

Cape Town Castle of Good Hope
Gold of Africa Restaurant and museum
Iziko Bertram House, Old Town House and other museums
Maneo B&B and other township B&Bs
District Six Guesthouse
