Why Cape Town?

Countless business people and event organisers around the world have chosen Cape Town to host their meetings, incentives, conferences and events.

The city that offers it all

Cape Town has wonderful weather, fantastic infrastructure, ample accommodation, a wide variety of established venues, stunning locations and endless entertainment options – all at an extremely competitive price.

Unwinding away from business is never a challenge in Cape Town, which is known for its relaxed and cosmopolitan vibe.

More for your money

Because of the exchange rate, your money will go much further in Cape Town than in most major cities around the world, plus you get sunshine and scenery as a bonus that those other cities can’t offer.

Cape Town hosts 10% of all the meetings in Africa and this percentage is likely to increase during the next few years.

The world’s most popular destination in 2010

A British Airways survey in November 2009 found that Cape Town is the world’s most popular destination for 2010, with hundreds of thousands of visitors flying in to boost the city’s economy.

Hosting the 2010 FIFA World Cup

Billions have been invested in preparing Cape Town to host the 2010 FIFA World Cup, and the upgraded infrastructure will be of huge benefit to future business tourism.

The months during the event itself – June and July – could be a great time to combine a business trip with a chance to experience the world’s second largest sporting event.

Waiting to welcome you

More than R1,6-billion was spent on upgrading Cape Town International Airport, which now has 120 check-in counters and can handle 3 000 suitcases per hour on its automated luggage system.

Direct flights to and from Cape Town are available from several of the world’s largest cities, including London, Munich, Singapore and Dubai, while it is possible to fly to Cape Town via Johannesburg from almost every major city.

Established organisers and convention bureau

Cape Town has an excellent track record for hosting events and conferences of all sizes. There are also hundreds of established organisers to assist you in the planning and running of your event, from costing to clearing up afterwards.

The Cape Town Convention Bureau is also on hand to assist you every step of the way and can be contacted on +27 (0)21 487 4800 or .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)
