Anthony Kelly, general manager of the Lagoon Beach Hotel and Spa in Milnerton, is a prime example of someone who is making the most of the opportunity to live and work in Cape Town. The cheerful and charismatic Irishman from Kerry arrived in the Mother City a year and ago says he loves it more every day.

Addressing Cape Town Tourism industry members at a networking function yesterday, he had everyone in stitches with his quips and delighted them with his opinions about what Cape Town has to offer.

“I’m having the time of my life here,” said Kelly. “Cape Town is an inspiration to me and I am inspired to work hard and to enjoy my free time even more. Living in Cape Town is all about your free time; it’s about doing all the great things that can be done.”

With a big smile, he adds, “At the end of a day out, I get to come back to the gorgeous Lagoon Beach Hotel and have a nice cocktail next to our beautiful pool, while enjoying what I think is the best possible view of Table Mountain and the Mother City.”

Milnerton is approximately eight kilometres from the Cape Town city centre and there is now a dedicated cycle path along this route.
