Winter wonderland – A Cape Town Tourism photo essay

The sun may linger behind the clouds a bit more often but winter is the perfect time for surfing and adrenalin pursuits like paragliding, abseiling, helicopter flips and sky-diving. Winter in Cape Town is not likely to be spent under the duvet.

Our Cape Town. Live it. Love it. Flickr group member Leigh Kemp proves that winters can be fun in these images:

With the tide coming in the two fishermen stayed out on the rocks until the surf became too wild.

Early morning on Muizenberg beach these horses were been put through their paces.

Two fishermen enjoying the early winter calm in False Bay.

Winter days in the Cape can be brutal but there are the balmy days in between that are enjoyed to the maximum.

Beaches in winter can be desolate places, but there are hardy souls who love the space.
