Winning a Loeries Young Creatives Award kick-starts great things
Entrants have until June 30 to submit their portfolio for the Loeries Young Creatives Award. For South Africa’s emerging talent, the glory of winning this award marks the beginning of a long, illustrious career.
The Young Creatives Award recognises the outstanding achievement of individuals under the age of 27 working in any area of brand communication – advertising, communication design or experiential media. The winners - and there are only two of them - receive a Gold Loerie, as well as an all-expenses-paid trip to an international award show of their choice.
Past Young Creatives Award winners have found that the overseas trip broadened their horizons and expanded their professional knowledge base, but that the recognition and respect that the award earned them closer to home was the real benefit.
Last year, the Young Creatives Award was received by Sanjiv Mistry, copywriter at Ogilvy Cape Town and Joanne van der Linde, art director at Net#work BBDO. They both chose to go to One Show in New York.
Entry for the Young Creatives Award is free. All entrants must submit a portfolio of work from the last three years by June 30, 2010. Full entry requirements and eligibility criteria are available on the Loeries website (www.theloerieawards.co.za).
The entry deadline for The Loerie Awards has now been extended until June 14, with a special extension until July 13 for World Cup related communications. For more information, visit www.theloerieawards.co.za.
