Why Shane Warne loves Cape Town
Stuart Buchanan is a journalist, blogger, and online writer for Flow Communications.
He grew up in Durban and has lived in various parts of South Africa and the UK, before finally settling on Cape Town. He often wonders why anyone would want to live anywhere else.
Two cricketing legends, South Africa all-rounder Jacques Kallis and former Australia spinner Shane Warne, were in Cape Town this week to promote the hair product that gave them a new lease on life, and a full head of hair.
Advanced Hair Studio, the company that specialises in hair implants and a range of other hair products, flew the two sports stars into Cape Town to talk to the media about their experiences. Warne is respected as one of the greatest bowlers the game has ever seen, while Kallis is without peer as an all-rounder – to date, he is the only cricketer in the history of the game to score more than 11 000 runs and take 250 wickets in both one-day internationals and Tests.
The stresses of the game affected both players, who now fully endorse the Advanced Hair Studio treatment, and have been travelling around the country promoting it.
We asked Shane Warne what it is he loves about Cape Town, and South Africa in general:
Kallis and Warne are no strangers to the Mother City – the two have done battle here many times at Sahara Park Newlands, the oldest cricket ground on the continent, and rated the second best in the world.
Warne has retired from international cricket, but look out for Kallis when he is next in action at Newlands.
