What’s New in Cape Town: Summer must-dos
Fazielah Williams has lived in and loved her Mother City since birth. Having lived all over the Peninsula during her childhood, she now calls the picturesque City Bowl home and likes nothing more than watching the sun set over Table Bay from the window of her apartment.
A lover of the arts and proud Cape Town fanatic, Fazielah began her writing career by spending many hours as a child conjuring fantastical stories that featured independent heroines from faraway lands who saved the Prince instead. This Capetonian princess has enjoyed stints as a magical arts PRO and TV publicist before finding her calling as a travel writer.
When not waxing lyrical about the Fairest Cape’s most loved attractions and activities and embarking on unexpected adventures, Fazielah can usually be found taking in a show at one of the City’s fabulous theatres.
Summer is in full swing in #lovecapetown and that means plenty of new, exciting things to see and do in our gorgeous sun-kissed Mother City.
Over the past few weeks, I’ve been lucky enough to get a taste of what’s new in our hometown and these are a few of my favourites:
Langaro Lifestyle Centre in Camps Bay
Cost-saving pampering in the heart of trendy Camps Bay… is that even possible? Yes, dear friends, at the stylish and decadent Langaro Lifestyle Centre which is home to a hair and beauty salon, fashion boutique, fitness centre and more, it certainly is.
With an amazing view, expert beauticians and the ethos to realise the “Ultimate You”, being spoilt at the seaside like the queen that you are is a certain reality.

Kalk Bay Theatre has long been a quirky favourite of mine but now, with its gorgeous revamp by dynamic performers and spouses Vanessa Harris and Ash Searle, this playhouse is moving to the top of my list.
From the refreshed theatre décor with a modern twist to the divine culinary creations (and yes, they’ve kept the brownies) to the red-hot productions, including the must-see comedic dance hit show, Big Boys 2, the new look Kalk Bay Theatre is a must-visit.
Mondiall Kitchen and Bar at the V&A Waterfront
Fancy fine dining in a relaxed, stylish setting? Then you have to pop by hot new spot, Mondiall Kitchen and Bar at my favourite seaside shopping centre, the V&A Waterfront.
The brainchild of handsome Relais & Châteaux Grand Chef Peter Tempelhoff and internationally experienced restaurateur Patrick Symington, Mondiall is the perfect after-work cocktails and dinner spot or to meet your friends for a leisurely weekend hangout.

Saturdays at HQ Restaurant
If, like me, you like the old school combination of great music and great food, don’t miss the swing music Saturdays at HQ restaurant in the City Centre.
Renowned for their straightforward menu of salad, sirloin and chips, HQ serves up the very best in musical entertainment with the likes of Kevin Abbott and be sure to try the legendary world class cocktails too.

Camissa Brasserie at the Table Bay Hotel
The Khoisan namesake for Cape Town, this new eatery at the luxurious Table Bay Hotel offers you only the very best: breath-taking views of the working harbour, locally inspired dishes including the rooibos tea smoked Franschhoek trout and more.
