Waterfront delight – Flickr pic of the day
Says Paul, Here is an eight-image panorama... captured at the V&A Waterfront yesterday evening... about twenty minutes after sunset.
"I'd arrived at the V&A about two hours before sunset... I wanted to get into the vibe of the place (I don't come here often)... and I wanted to have plenty of time to find the best possible composition. The place was buzzing with people when I arrived (that's why I don't come here often)... and I sauntered around like a tourist for half an hour or so... checking out the angle of the light... and looking for a spot to setup my tripod.
"Then I noticed this small Indian restaurant on the upper level balcony with a view that looked promising... and with an empty table right where I wanted to be! So I sprinted up the stairs and grabbed the table! I ordered a drink (first)... and then asked the waiter if anyone would mind if I took a few photos. No problemo! Great!!
"So I setup my gear and sipped my drink... watching the light soften... the charter boats arriving and leaving... and all the people milling around. It was still a bit early... but that wasn't a problem... I had the most magnificent view imaginable right in front of me... and I was waiting in anticipation for the sun to set and the blue hour to begin. I took loads of eight-image panorama sequence of this scene while the light was changing... and 324 images later... this (last) sequence... turned out to be the best of the bunch!"
