View from Signal Hill – Flickr pic of the day
Grant says, “Cape Town is a photographer’s paradise. Its natural beauty stretches far and wide across the peninsula, offering something for everyone – from the rolling vineyards, set against big rocky mountains around the wine route, to everyday city life with its immense cultural diversity.
“Cape Town is encircled by some of the most beautiful beaches and a coastline humming with wild fauna and flora, both in and out of the ocean, up to the tops of the majestic Table Mountain and Lion’s Head. (South Africa is the only country that can claim to have every one of the world’s six floral kingdoms completely within its borders.) With the natural surroundings subject to the seasonal changes, there really are no limits to what can be snapped up on film – we are truly blessed.
“This picture was taken from Signal Hill just before sunset on a partly overcast winter’s day in the Mother City, looking out towards the west, over Sea Point and the Atlantic. And entirely by surprise. In the true, unpredictable spirit of Cape Town,” he continues.
