Twilight Team Run 2011 comes to Cape Town
In just a few hours, the Mother City will once again be descended upon by thousands of eager runners in fancy dress as they participate in the 29th Community Chest Twilight Team Run through the City Centre.
Renowned for attracting the weird and wonderful, the highlight of this year's programme, which will be hosted at the Grand Parade, is the Best Dressed Competition. Several phenomenal prizes will also be awarded to the team with the most creative costumes.
Superheroes, monsters, hippies and circus folk have all been seen in the past and this year will be no different!
There's also live entertainment, the Good Hope FM DJs spinning the decks and food stalls to satisfy hunger pangs.
Proceeds of the run, which attracts more than 20 000 people each year, are donated to the Community Chest, which supports more than 400 social development agencies. These agencies care for children, families, the elderly and homeless, the physically and mentally challenged, people living with HIV/Aids, as well as provide support for rehabilitation and community development projects.
Late entries for the run can be completed at a specially designated caravan at the Grand Parade from 08h00.
