Trek Fishing – A Cape Town Tourism photo essay

Cape Town. Live it. Love it. group member Gale McAll spent her holiday in Smitswinkel Bay near Cape Point and shares her photos with us.

“Smitswinkel Bay near Cape Point has a secluded community living in about 25 bungalows. One of the residents has a fish trekking (pulling) licence to catch harders and one of the best fish available, yellowtail. These images were taken early one morning while the trek crew was waiting for the whistle and for the first row of the day.

"Dawn at Smitswinkels near Cape Point. What a place to wake up to!" says Gale.

"This patient fisherman was waiting in the early morning rain for the whistle to indicate that the fish have arrived."
