Three bloggers, One City and a whole lot of #lovecapetown
What makes Cape Town so fantastic? What makes it a city so great that no matter who visits or moves there, and for whatever reason – they’re always left with a feeling of being in one of the best places on the planet? Is it the friendly people? The breath-taking views, the beaches or mountain? We’ve asked you, our readers and plenty of notable people why they #lovecapetown and the answers we’ve received have been varied and heartfelt. The sentiment we’ve gleaned from comments is “How could you NOT love this vividly dynamic melting pot of a cosmopolitan city? It literally has a place and space in it, for everyone.”
Riding on the success of last year’s #lovecapetown blog trip and social media campaign, Cape Town Tourism has embarked on a second campaign where for a week, three international travel bloggers visit Cape Town and uncover the city’s secrets. Using crowd-sourcing tips from Capetonians via social media, the invited bloggers will unearth the wealth of activity that takes place in and around Cape Town. 2013s campaign will be more in-depth, with the three chosen bloggers exploring the luxury travel/lifestyle, food/wines and design facets of the Mother City. The bloggers have been encouraged to share their experiences in real-time via their social media channels.
So, from the 18th of September to the 7th of October, our three international bloggers in Cape Town are:
- Rachelle Lucas from The Travel Bite (USA) who looks at travel through the prism of food and wine: @TravelBlggr
- Abigail King from Inside The Travel Lab (UK) is a travel and lifestyle blogger: @insidetravellab
- Carol T. More from Follow the Colours (Brazil) has a distinct take on creativity and design: @follow_colours
Abigail King is an award-winning journalist and photographer and one of the leading figures in the UK for blogging and social media in travel. She has lived in Saudi Arabia, Tanzania, France and Spain and can now add her Cape Town experience to her list of exiting destinations.
Rachelle Lucas is an avid traveller and foodie with a combined personal social media following of over 57 thousand. She believes the best way to learn about a destination is through its flavours and as much as she enjoys traveling, running is another passion that allows her to indulge in new foods without the guilt.
Carol T. Moreh serves as editor for followthecolours.com. She is passionate about the internet, colours and trends. She has a good eye as to what is cool, innovative and original. Her website is a place to share good ideas, design, aesthetics, cool stuff, trends and inspiration happening throughout Brazil and the world! Hopefully Cape Town has something new and innovative for her to offer her followers.
After offering our trio of bloggers a warm Mother City welcome, here’s to all of us continuing to discover and share the new and wonderful things about this city we love so much.
