Roxanne says, “Cape Town is an inspiring place. It has such beautiful scenery, making it hard not to take photos at every turn.

“I was experimenting one day and using the zoom burst effect. I discovered that you could make buildings look like they were shooting sparklers.”

This effect is simple to achieve. For best results, try it at dusk with an SLR manual camera. Set up your camera on a tripod and set your speed to a long exposure. Click the shutter and gently zoom your lens in and out. It will take a couple of tries to get it exactly how you want it.
