The Killers concert keeps Cape Town in party mood

Cape Town couldn’t have had a better start to December – the 2010 World Cup Final Draw on Friday and an amazing performance from The Killers on Sunday.

To get to the concert at Val De Vie Wine and Polo Estate, we organised a speedy shuttle with a vibey driver who let us pump our Killers mix all the way to the venue. The two-hour ride there was a party on its own.

The location itself was amazing: we were surrounded by vineyards, had mountains in the background and were treated to some of the best weather Cape Town has had all year – it couldn’t have been better.

The atmosphere at the event was awesome and the concert was opened with style by local groups Goldfish and Zebra & Giraffe, adding a proudly Capetonian stamp to the night.

The Killers followed later in the evening and blew everyone away with one of the best live performances I’ve seen. The stage was alive with brilliant displays of video, lights and graphics.

I’d go again, even to sit through that insane traffic jam leading back to Cape Town.
