The beach at Camps Bay – Flickr pic of the day

Blog Featured Image

This photograph of the beach at Camps Bay was taken by our Cape Town. Live it. Love it. group member Hirohiko Okada aka 1/8 sec.

Okada says he enjoys Camps Bay because of the way the white sandy beach, busy with people during the day, turns into a scene of tranquility with magical lights in the evening.

“I love the moment of sundown, when the top part of the Twelve Apostles, Lions Head, and Table Mountain looming over the beach are spotlit and shine in red and pink.

“There are many romantic sunset view points in Cape Town but Camps Bay always offers me something special whenever I walk there.

“This well-known beach on the Atlantic coastline is a lively place with various restaurants, cafes and bars with a Mediterranean flavour. Events such as international volleyball tournaments and the Summer Beach Festival take place here,” he adds.
