The Mother City named one of the Top 10 Cities for wine lovers
Calling all oenophiles (lovers of wine) – if you live in Cape Town, you’re in one of the best places to exercise your passion! Cape Town has been named one of the 10 best cities for wine lovers by travel and lifestyle portal Fodor’s.
South Africa as a country has a rich wine history dating back to 1659 when it is said, Jan van Riebeeck produced the first recorded wine. Traditions have been passed down through generations and today Constantia, Paarl, Stellenbosch, Fanschhoek and Worcester serve as some of the better known wine regions, with many more producing wines acknowledged as among the best around the world!
But, when comes to fine dining and fine wine, there’s no better place to enjoy both than in the Mother City and surrounds. Not only does Cape Town serve as the hub of the various wine routes, it boasts some of best places to enjoy a delectable glass of wine.
