Ten reasons why Sea Point Promenade is Andrew Boraine’s ‘My Cape Town’

September is World Tourism Month and Cape Town Tourism, in partnership with Table Mountain Aerial Cableway and other top city attractions, is encouraging locals to experience their city as tourists, through the My Cape Town campaign.
Andrew Boraine, CEO of the Cape Town Partnership, a public-private partnership that focuses on the regeneration of the Cape Town City Centre, took these beautiful pictures on a late afternoon in September. Here are his ten reasons why the Sea Point Promenade is his “My Cape Town”.

It’s a place of diversity, a shared space

It’s a safe space for children and families

It’s a healthy place

It’s a place to explore public art

It’s a place to connect to our marine heritage

It’s a well-used place

It’s a place to chill

It’s a place where 1970s culture (including putt putt) is respected

It’s a place where you can feel the power of the ocean

It’s a place to experience the African light
