Table View Kite Surfing – Flickr pic of the day
Alex says, “One Saturday, my wife and I were taking our usual exercise walk along Table View beachfront. It was a beautiful day with a very calm sea and no wind.
“We noticed something going on opposite Doodles Restaurant – there were lots of people around and stands and banners erected. I approached someone to find out what was going on. It turned out to be well-known sports photographer Barbara Krynauw, who told me that there was supposed to be a kite surfing competition happening, but with no wind and no swell it had not been able to start. They were holding it over to the next day.
“The next day I awoke to a brisk south-easterly wind. I grabbed my camera and shot off down to the beach. The swell had also come up overnight and the conditions were as near perfect as I had ever seen for kite surfing.”
