The Table Mountain Aerial Cableway will close from July 18 to 31 for annual maintenance. Engineers who recently returned from specialised training in Switzerland will assist technicians to ensure the cableway continues to meet global standards.
Sabine Lehman, Table Mountain Aerial Cableway CEO, explains: “We operate one of the busiest cableways that runs throughout the year, unlike ski resorts. This means the two-week maintenance period is a very important time of year for us, when we have a lot of work to complete.”
Maintenance will include servicing the major powerline, the hydraulics and the main motor gearbox.
