Top South African musicians, including Macstanley, Watershed, Louise Carver, Just Jinjer, Gang of Instrumentals and aKING will join a 65-piece symphony orchestra for the Symphonic Rocks concert at the GrandWest Casino in Cape Town on Saturday night.

The concept was thought up by Macstanley front man, Andy Mac, and will feature more than 20 popular songs from the various performers, backed by an orchestra, which is said to include violas, violins, cellos and a harp.

Some big hits you may get to hear include Indigo Girl by Watershed, Shallow Waters and Like You Madly by Just Jinjer and Impossible Love by Louise Carver.

Craig Hinds, lead singer of Watershed, shared some of his excitement in anticipation of Saturday’s performance with entertainment publication Tonight: “I suppose Indigo Girl is probably what I’m most looking forward to performing. Even after all these years of playing it, I never get tired of the audience’s reaction.”

The show will be staged in the Grand Arena and starts at 20h00, with doors opening at 19h00.

Tickets cost R150 and are available from Computicket.

The GrandWest Casino is approximately 15 minutes’ drive from the Cape Town City Centre. Head north on the N2 and follow signs to the casino on Vanguard Drive.
