Sun-blasted tree – Flickr pic of the day
Jim says, “I was driving home just before sunset and looking at the sun fighting its way through the dense fog coming in from the Atlantic Ocean. I was thinking to myself; ‘Man I wish I had a decent camera setup and the time to go hunting scenes like this,’ and I kept driving.
“About five to 10 seconds later the pretty scene became a stunning scene. I glanced in my rear-view mirror, hit the hazards button and practically stood on the brakes all at the same time.
“Being a photographer in Cape Town is like being an underwater fireman (really easy),” he continues. “The city has everything from an evocative sea, which can be either scary or peaceful (depending on its mood), to a majestic mountain. From naval shows to air shows, urban environments to rural gravel roads, Cape Town has it all.
“If you’ve got a camera (it doesn’t really matter what type) in Cape Town, you’re almost guaranteed to get a good shot once in a while.”
