Strand Beach – A Cape Town Tourism photo essay
With its 5km (3mi)-long beach, Strand is an ideal family venue for swimming, sunbathing and a variety of watersports.

The fence at the end of the Strand beach makes for an interesting photographic subject.
This photograph was captured during the 2008 Guy Fawkes celebration on the Strand beach.
There are two places in Strand where rock pools can be found at low tide and these are frequented by fishermen.
The Strand jetty is currently closed for safety reasons and surrounded by an unsightly fence, but there are plans to rebuild it.
