As far as South African rugby derbies go, Stormers versus Bulls is as big as it gets. It’s the countries most southerly franchise against the most northerly and the rivalry is epic. On Saturday, June 10, the war resumes at Newlands in Cape Town, with kick-off at 18h10.

These two teams met in the Super 14 final of 2010 and the Bulls defended their title with a 25-17 win in Soweto. The Stormers however got a little revenge earlier this year when they beat the Bulls 23-13 at Loftus in Pretoria.

In 2009, the Bulls beat Western Province in the semi-final of the Currie Cup at Newlands, but that match is probably better remembered for the monster tackle local lad Schalk Burger made on Springbok team mate, Fourie du Preez.
