Capetonians are in for a Halloween with a difference when Two Oceans Aquarium’s aSCAREium, a new, fishy take on the American holiday, happens on October 30. They’ve got an evening of faBOOlous fun lined up: With bug-eating contests and magic tricks, a mad scientist and creepy creature corners, it’ll be a frightfully entertaining evening for the whole family.

Visitors are encouraged to let their imaginations run wild and dress the part, as prizes are up for grabs.

And the fun does not stop once the clock has ticked past 20h00.

Once the bells have tolled for those who have to go home, the aquarium will host a sleepover for families with children of all ages, who can enjoy specially themed arts ‘n crafts, more tricks and treats, and a movie to make your spine tingle.

And when it is off to bed, unroll your sleeping back and drift off to dreamland under the watchful eyes of the ragged-tooth sharks. This first-ever aSCAREium sleepover is open to the public.

For an evening of safe fun for the whole family book online, or buy your aSCAREium tickets at the aquarium from 17h30 on October 30, 2010.

Tickets cost R120 per adult and R60 per child and are only valid for October 30, 2010 from 17h30 to 20h00.

Sleepover tickets are R270 per adult and R160 per child (which include access to all aSCAREium events as well as breakfast). The event is limited to 150 people and the closing date for bookings is October 28, 2010, so ensure your sleeping spot next to the sharks now. The event starts at 20h00 and will run until 08h00 the next morning.

For more information on both these events, contact the Members’ Centre at the Two Oceans Aquarium on +27 (0)21 418 3823, email members@aquarium.co.za or visit the aquarium’s website.

The aSCAREium sleepover must be booked directly through the Members’ Centre – only aSCAREium tickets (minus sleepover) are available online.
